The Internet Industry Association hosted its annual Nautical Policy Party in Sydney with several members of IIA and media for a cruise on the Sydney Harbour.
IIA’s new CEO, Peter Lee, said the association will continue to push its new vision to foster a trusted, secure fair and open Internet for Australia.
One of the organisation’s main goal will be to help build confidence among Australian businesses and consumers about the Internet, he said.
In his annual policy wrap, Lee highlighted some of the initiatives and issues that he has been involved with such as copyright issues, data retention and security. The association also was actively advocating against the contentious content filtering policy, which has now has been put to bed, said Lee.
At the event, IIA also gave out recognition certificates to vendors F-Secure and Australian Private Networks.
