Dimension Data has secured a deal to provide real-time network monitoring, management and support services for Coca-Cola Amatil’s data communications network in Australia.
As part of the two-year agreement, with an option to renew for three years, the systems integrator will supply its reactive support managed services, Uptime, and real-time monitoring and management services, known as Insite.
National operational services director of Dimension Data Australia, Karen James, would not disclose how much the deal was worth or the size of the network they would be managing under the agreement. Nor would she divulge whether the services contract was offered as an open tender or how many contenders there were for the contract.
She said that Dimension Data secured the contract six months ago and had been providing Coca-Cola Amatil with the Uptime and Insite services for about five months, but it had been unable to announce the deal until now.
International anchor bottler within the worldwide Coca-Cola system, Coca-Cola Amatil decided to reduce the number of multiple outsource contracts for the management and maintenance of its data network in Australia by signing one supplier, Dimension Data, to deliver both hardware maintenance and network management with an improved level of service and more competitive pricing.
“Consolidation of our managed services benefits the overall operation of our network and provides us with a single point of contact, one set of procedures, and one billing system, as well as delivering economies of scale in pricing,” said infrastructure projects and technology manager for Coca-Cola Amatil, Richard Jones.
“Dimension Data’s reputation in the managed services area and their competitive pricing made them a clear choice,” Jones said. “We had already had a positive experience with their Insite monitoring and management service and, because they have more Cisco experts than any other Australian service provider, we are ensured optimal response under Dimension Data’s Uptime support agreement.”
