Peter MacGee to lead Rackspace Western Sydney datacentre

Chad McCathie also appointed as network security engineer

Open Cloud company, Rackspace Hosting, has boosted its Australian and New Zealand team with the appointment of Peter MacGee.

MacGee, who has over 15 years’ experience in the telecommunications and IT service provider industries, joins Rackspace as Australian datacentre manager, and will be taking care of the company’s Erskine Park facility in Sydney’s west.

According to Rackspace Australia and New Zealand country manager, Mark Randall, MacGee was appointment for his customer service focus which he had in previous roles.

“Delivering fanatical support alongside our leading technology is what makes Rackspace stand out from the crowd, and MacGee fits that description like a glove,” he said.

Commenting on his appointment, MacGee said that he looks forward to the challenge and opportunity as the Erskine Park datacentre is not only significant locally, but part of the company’s global strategy.

Rackspace has also appointed Chad McCathie, who joins the company from Macquarie Telecom where he was a NOC engineer. He first came to Rackspace’s UK team in 2006, and will now work as Australian network security engineer, where he will develop efficient hosting solutions for local businesses.
