TAB Datafile has introduced a range of IT room systems for LAN networking equipment. The moduLAN 4001 is a lockable enclosure measuring 2400x900x1200mm, which is designed to clean up the cabling and networking clutter associated with many systems. Its front doors open 180 degrees and the cabinet features adjustable internal configurations, sliding rear doors and perforated panels for air circulation. The modules provide an alternative to rack units, with functional customised solutions designed for each organisation, according to TAB. The arrangement is designed to be flexible and increase security while also reducing the costs of LAN networking. The moduLAN 4001 can also be linked to existing moduLAN 3001 systems. "This approach gives [customers] a compact, purpose-built system which integrates equipment so compactly that the heart of a LAN system can be housed as part of a relocatable unit and plugged in anywhere suitable," said TAB managing director Phillip Evans. Pricing for the unit depends on configuration. The moduLAN 4001 is available immediately.
