Unified value distributor makes major move opening Auckland office, appointing staff, expanding services

Unified value distributor, WhiteGold Solutions, has opened its first office in New Zealand.

The company's renewed presence in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands is underscored with the appointment of Richard Crabb as Country Manager for New Zealand & Pacific Islands, a local team of resources, premises and stock holding.

WhiteGold managing director, Dominic Whitehand, said, “We have sold into the New Zealand and Pacific Islands market for some time, albeit with a limited number of vendors. Now, we have access to distribution for a larger number of our vendors whom we represent in Australia – and we will have a physical presence with resources on the ground and stock holding, based in Auckland.

"This is a significant growth accelerator for WhiteGold and we are taking the move seriously – investing in premises, people and systems to provide a customer experience consistent with our Australian operation.

"Customers in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands will receive the same award-winning, value-added service that our Australian customers enjoy and we see tremendous opportunity in building a solid local operation in the region, to add to the overall growth and success of WhiteGold as ANZ’s pioneer in Unified Value Distribution [UVD]."

WhiteGold Strategic Advisor at WhiteGold, Leigh Howard added, “WhiteGold is well known in Australia for the quality of our people, systems and overall channel hygiene. We have grown the business 38 per cent year-on-year as at June 30 – and this move will be a cornerstone in us achieving a target of more than double that growth over this financial year."

Howard said as a distributor WhiteGold now represented an attractive target for vendors looking for excellent regional coverage and capabilities across Australia and New Zealand – and had significant credibility to substantiate those capabilities.

“The first piece of the puzzle in creating a quality presence in New Zealand was to hire a Country Manager with the credentials to start up and grow a channel business to match our operation in Australia – and we have found that person in Richard Crabb," WhiteGold Sales Director, Jonathan Odria, said.

"Richard is a well-respected channel identity and has successfully operated in the local NZ channel for many years, developing trusted relationships from Enterprise to SMB level – and we are very excited to have someone of his calibre on board to establish our business here”.

An excited Crabb said, "We have already sourced an inside Sales/Admin resource who joins me in our new premises on Apollo Drive in Mairangi Bay – and I am interviewing sales engineers as we speak.

"We are open for business – and we fully intend to quickly substantiate WhiteGold’s award-winning service and capabilities in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, by utilising the same methodologies as the parent operation in Australia.”

It's turning out to be a year to remember for WhiteGold. Next month, it will celebrate it's 10th Anniversary since being formed by Whitehand and Odria. And to cap everything off, it recently won Solutions Distributor of the Year at the channel's main event, the prestigious 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards.
