QlikTech is boosting the functionality of its QlikView Business Discovery platform by opening a dedicated marketplace for it.
Titled QlikMarket, the online marketplace enables QlikTech users to evaluate and use various technologies and applications for the QlikView Business Discovery platform.
As a recognised leader in its industry for the breadth of its global partner network, QlikTech launches QlikMarket to foster connections between its partners, customers and prospects, while extending the value of QlikView.
QlikTech A/NZ regional director, Mark Sands, says that the move is reflection of the vendor’s momentum in the market, with already over 26,000 customers and 14,000 partners using QlikView globally.
“This type of environment has proven itself multiple times,” he said.
As an example, Sands points to Salesforce.com AppExchange, the marketplace for applications built for the Salesforce.com community.
“Although, they launched that at a similar stage of their evolution as we are now,” he said.
When identifying the benefits of the initiative, Sands says that QlikMarket is an effective mechanism for the vendor to be connecting business partners, customers, and solutions in a number of different application and technology areas.
“We can now do this in ways that utilise environments that customers and potential users are both familiar and comfortable using, rather than relying on the traditional one-to-one connection,” he said.
While Sands is quick to point out that the “traditional” way of connecting will continue to be important for QlikTech, the vendor sees QlikMarket as an important means for its business partners to showcase their offerings and capabilities.
