Comdisco, a disaster-recovery and IT leasing company in the US, announced last week that it has filed for bankruptcy. The company said it will cut 200 jobs and sell its technology services business to Hewlett-Packard for $US610 million.
HP plans to integrate the Comdisco unit into the HP Operations segment of its HP Services division. The company will support services for non-HP hardware, and customers will be able to continue working with Comdisco account managers and staff, HP assured customers in a memo posted on HP's Web site.
However, Comdisco's Australian operations will attempt to continue to trade according to Comdisco's Australian managing director Dominic Corrigan.
