CGI Group completes acquisition of Logica

Names Asia-Pacific leadership team

IT services and business process services company, CGI Group, has completed the acquisition of its competitor, Logica, as it moves to expand its presence globally.

According to a recent report, the combination of the two companies is expected to create an IT services player with a presence in North America, Europe, and Asia.

The company has named its Australian and Asia-Pacific leadership team.

Colin Holgate, formerly Logica Australia managing director for almost nine years, will be promoted to CGI Asia-Pacific president.

Holgate has more than 30 years experience in the IT industry, working in a range of roles.

Prior to working for Logica, he was CEO of Praxa for three years.

Michael Shepherd will continue as managing director of CGI Australia, but his job scope will include responsibility for the Logica Australia operations.

According to the CGI Group, the acquisition and new leadership structure will benefit the clients and partners of both the companies.

The company said that, in Australia, the joined forces provide a greater capacity to deliver a broader range of consulting, systems integration and outsourcing services across sectors such as finance, telecommunications, energy, utilities, transport and government.
