Australasian-owned IT service provider, Datacom, has announced that it has been selected by TEDxCanberra to participate in the event as a mentor partner.
iiNet and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia have also been selected.
TEDx, created by TED, “is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience,” according to the event’s website. It features an array of speakers who present and spark live discussions. The TEDxCanberra theme is An Optimistic Challenge. The event will take place on September 8.
While sponsorship is part of the agreement, the key component of being a mentor partner is Datacom's ability to host a ‘conversation space’ in the form of a booth, where it will be focusing the conversation on its corporate and social responsibilities.
“Datacom has a strong sense of corporate and social responsibility that supports a very active local and international Community and Social Responsibility programme, which asks all of our businesses and their employees to support a charity and local community initiatives, along with the call for emergency needs in our region,” Datacom ACT director, Lisa Thorburn, said.
