End-to-end IT infrastructure and business solutions provider, Southern Cross, has opened up an office in Perth, as part of its strategy to expand geographically into growth markets.
The expansion will first focus on the company’s broad range of IT services – including technology solutions, managed services, information security and IP surveillance consulting.
According to Southern Cross managing director, Mark Kalmus, the company decided to open a base in Perth as Western Australia represents 14.6 per cent of national GDP and 11 per cent of the total Australian IT market opportunity.
“We will focus on industry opportunities in natural resources (mining, chemicals & petroleum), energy & utilities, public sector, mid-market mining and transport services. We expect to grow to ten people in the first year and mirror the success we have experienced in Canberra,” he said.
The company also added a new services practice in 2011.
