iiNet has expressed its intention to focus on its mobile strategy, with the recent launch of its handsets segment.
It follows iiNet’s latest net profit announcement.
iiNet chief financial officer, David Buckingham, said the company is getting better at selling mobile and television, with its growing numbers of mobile customers.
“It’s a choked environment in terms of mobile. Essentially, we’re trying to meet what we think is the untapped demand for customers to be able to pick and mix between handset and SIM plans and offer them with more choice,” he said.
Buckingham mentioned the service provider will also look into segmenting its customer base, retraining its service staff, directing its product services towards the business segment, and driving products per customer ratio.
From an operational perspective, it will focus on migrating its existing customers to on-net and increasing the number of products per customer.
“That’s our key metrics going forward – we want to get to three products per customer as quickly as we can,” Buckingham said.
In terms of customer service, iiNet is working to simplify, standardise, and understand the customer base it acquired from Internode and TransACT.
“Over the next two to three years, we want to understand our customer needs and make sure that they are serviced as best as they can be,” he said.
iiNet has also recently re-architectured its website design.
“We’re putting in the platform there to try and grow our customer segment further. We want to maximise the best of breed iiNet culture across the whole business,” he added.
