Boutique sales consulting firm, Channel Dynamics, has inked a partnership with UK channel social media management solution vendor, purechannelapps, to sell and support its socialondemand solution in A/NZ.
socialondemand is a content syndication application for social media that aims to provide vendors with a means of reaching new end-users and resellers with an avenue to create and distribute content.
The Web-based tool enables vendors to seamlessly target and deliver social media content to end-users via their channel partners’ social media presence.
“In the same way that vendors use the channel to distribute products to end users, the socialondemand application now enables vendors to utilise their channel to distribute social media content (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) to new end-user audiences,” Channel Dynamics director, Moheb Moses said.
Partners have the option of appending the content, or automatically posting the content provided or choose to set up filters, so that they will only receive content that is relevant to them based on the solutions they provide and the customers they target.
Moses said personal use of social media is not growing as fast as it used to, but it still continues to grow.
“Business use of social media, however, is growing faster and the channel should get on board with it,” he said.
Channel Dynamics recently conducted a research project with 30 partners in Australia, interviewing them on their usage of social media within the channel.
The findings showed most of them absorb information presented in social media, but do not contribute to it and understand the importance of social media but lack the education to use it to connect with the channel.
Moses said the solution enables the vendor to track where the information is going, reach customers it would not otherwise be able to reach and target its information accordingly.
He said from the partner’s side, it enables them to submit content to multiple accounts with one click and discard irrelevant information using the filters.
“When the economy is tight – the way that it is now – businesses need to find ways to reduce their costs, grow business from existing customers and find new customers. The solution enables that,” Moses said.
Avnet has been signed on to distribute the product and Channel Dynamics will be dealing directly with other vendors that Avnet does not have access to.
The price of the SaaS solution varies with the vendor’s customer base and requirements. It will be based on a monthly subscription which the partners can then utilise for free.
