Ferntree - now under the banner of multinational GE Capital Technology Management Services Group - has launched a new desktop leasing service targeting large corporates and governments.
Ferntree general manager, financial services John Hall says the company's Desktop Plus service incorporates an operating lease that provides upgrade flexibility and protection against equipment obsolescence.
"With Desktop Plus, the financial benefits of an operating lease are combined with a complete range of integrated support services, including procurement, hardware configuration, delivery, end-of-lease pickup and hardware maintenance, all under one monthly payment," Hall said.
"By outsourcing the desktop, organisations can focus on their core business, freeing up valuable staff and relieving persistent management and resource problems associated with non-core IT operation," he said. Lease terms can span 12 to 36 months.
"At the end of the lease term, clients can upgrade their systems, renew the lease on the same equipment at a reduced rate or return it to Ferntree with no further obligation," Hall said. Desktop Plus is available for a range of desktop and mobile products from major manufacturers, including Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Toshiba.
Monthly reports are provided to client companies to assist in the management of IT resources.
A single invoice, including essential support services, consolidates all lease schedules, allowing for a monthly price per seat for all leased equipment, Hall said.
