Lenovo’s new ThinkPad business range arrives

Eight mobility products targeting business professionals

Lenovo has launched a range of ThinkPad series X, T, L, and W products targeting professionals in the SMB, government, education, and large enterprise sectors.

The arsenal includes the X230 laptop and X230t tablet, W530 mobile workstation, and T and L series laptops.

The X230 is designed for business mobility, promising up to 24 hours of battery life within a compact form factor. It offers a 12.5-inch, 300 nit IPS wide-viewing display, alongside a backlit keyboard. The device weighs in at 1.5kg.

With capabilities similar to its laptop counterpart, the X230t convertible table hopes to offer the best of both worlds. In addition to the features in the X230, the tablet is available with a choice of multi-touch display or a Corning Gorilla Glass Outdoor usage pen-only screen.

Lenovo’s T series laptops, comprising the T430, T430s, and T530, are designed for mobility and security. They include built-in SmartCard reader, up to 16GB RAM, UL Gold Certification, Intel vPro management, and optional Nvidia discrete graphics.

T430 and T430s are 14-inch devices, with the latter pitched as 20 per cent less thick than other products in its class. T530 contains a 15.6-inch display with full HD capabilities.

T430s is also available in a premium configuration with an i7 processor, 8GB RAM, Thunderbolt, 128GB SSD, and 1TB HDD/DVD multi-swappable drives.

Lenovo is pitching its L430 and L530 as the more affordable alternatives in this release. They are available in 14-inch and 15.6-inch options with 1366x768 or 1600x900 resolutions, respectively, and include TPM as a standard feature.

At the high end, the W530 is designed for high performance. It features up to a third generation Intel i7 Quad Extreme i7-3920XM processor. It can house up to 32GB RAM, 2TB disk space, and has the option of RAID-0 or RAID-1 configurations.

Additionally, the workstation includes Nvidia Quadro mobile graphics processors with second generation Optimus power management technology. Its full HD display offers 270 nit wide-viewing angle and 95 per cent colour gamut. The device can have up to four additional displays connected to it when paired with a dock.
