New Foundry certification hits skills deficiency

Networks vendor, Foundry Networks has announced its certification program, the first to validate technical competency across the three areas of enterprise networking, web switching, and Internet routing.

The qualification demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to build and support high performance networks, consisting of Layer 2/3 infrastructure, Layer 4-7 Web switching and service provider networks.

Foundry Networks has developed the certification program to meet the educational needs of networking professionals responsible for designing enterprise and service provider networks by validating in-depth knowledge of end-to-end high performance networking solutions built around Foundry's products.

"The FNCP offers our customers a unique program, tailored to validate and certify their engineers technical capabilities with networking products from Layer 2 through Layer 7 switching and Internet routing, something not offered by anyone else in the industry," said Gordon Vick, Foundry Networks Regional Sales Director, South Asia Pacific.

"Our program provides many benefits to candidates who enrol, including career advancement, increased credibility, validation of knowledge and skills, and a competitive advantage."

Foundry says customers and resellers in Australia have embraced the program.

"It will mean our network design and operations engineers will have the training services necessary to support the advanced Internet and networking services that FlowCom is bringing to our customers," said Tom Amos, CEO of telecommunications facilities carrier and Foundry partner FlowCom.
