Netgear recognised as #1 in NAS/unified storage category by Gartner

Storage vendor excels in revenue for solutions under $5000 in 2011

When it comes to worldwide NAS (network attached storage)/unified storage system units, Netgear is number one, according to Gartner.

In Gartner’s recent report, titled Market Share: Network-Attached Storage/Unified Storage Worldwide 2011, Netgear came first in revenue for NAS/unified storage systems under $5000.

It also came in third for systems under $25,000 and number six overall.

Netgear Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Ryan Parker, sees Gartner’s result indicative that customers are increasingly preferring offerings that are “reliable, affordable and simple” in lieu of “traditionally expensive and complex” solutions.

“We are very happy to have Gartner’s confirmation of our market leadership,” he said.

“In A/NZ, we see end users and resellers alike realising the value of Netgear.”
