Security vendor, Trend Micro, has named Tim Falinski to the new role of A/NZ director of retail.
According to the company, Falinski will be responsible for driving all aspects of Trend Micro’s growing consumer business – including enhancing strategy, marketing, channel relationships and introducing new products to market.
Trend Micro A/NZ managing director, Dave Patnaik, said that the creation of this new role reflects a key strategy for the company to capitalise on the growing opportunities in the consumer market and giving a stronger focus into the retail space.
“I want to carry on the success we already have in the consumer space. We’ve got new products coming to the marketplace this year and I want to work on developing a multi-product strategy to cover every aspect of a person’s digital lifestyle,” Falinski said.
The company is currently undertaking a channel review and will soon be looking at extending its retail partners that may not traditionally have been thought of as security vendors.
He also added that Trend Micro will be focusing on verticals in education and expanding into the New Zealand marketplace.
Falinski stated that going forward into Q2, his first point of focus, is to build its strategies in mobility, as well as strengthening partnerships with its channel partners in bringing the new products and offerings into the market.
He brings more than 20 years’ experience in the IT industry to the role, with almost 15 years at NEC Computers Australasia, where he last held the position of regional sales director.
