Former Apple executive joins Livescribe

Brett Halle to drive Livescribe strategy, development, and engineering

Mobile computing platform developer, Livescribe, has appointed former Apple executive, Brett Halle, as senior vice-president of engineering.

Halle will drive product strategy and development, and lead the vendor’s software and hardware engineering teams.

“With Halle at the helm of our engineering team, we will continue to surprise our customers with easy-to-use, intuitive and breakthrough products designed to enhance personal productivity,” Livescribe CEO, Gilles Bouchard, said.

According to Bouchard, the appointment comes at a critical time for the vendor.

“As I considered my next career move, I established some criteria as a guideline,” Halle said. “I wanted to work for a company that was creating something truly unique and was small enough to be nimble and flexible.”

Prior to joining Livescribe, Halle spent 21 years with Apple, serving in numerous roles focused on software development, management, and technological innovation.

He was most recently Apple’s senior director of networking and kernel technologies, where he was responsible for the direction, creation, and implementation of the common operating system technologies shared across all Apple products and platforms.
