Security and network management solutions provider, Arbor Networks, has extended its distribution agreement with Ingram Micro to include Australia.
Arbor’s PravailTM Availability Protection System (APS) allows Ingram Micro to offer enterprise customers a purpose-built solution that protects the network perimeter against threats to availability, specifically, application-layer distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.
Ingram Micro senior director, Enterprise Technology Group, David Lenz, said, “Arbor Networks is a world leader in anti-DDoS solutions and addresses a major concern for enterprises of all sizes – ensuring the availability of, and protecting, their critical networks, applications and services from attack.
“We are excited to work with Arbor Networks not only because their solutions address an acute problem for enterprises, but because of the strong synergy with our other enterprise-focused vendor partners.
"Arbor Networks also offers a very comprehensive support and incentive program for our reseller partners across Australia.”
Application-layer attacks are low bandwidth, difficult to detect and target both end-users’ and network operators’ own ancillary supporting services, such as HTTP Web services and domain name system (DNS).
According to Arbor’s 7th annual Worldwide Infrastructure Security Report, 40 per cent of those who have deployed these devices within their data centers experienced significant firewall and/or IPS failure as a direct result of DDoS attack.
Pravail APS delivers out-of-the-box, proven DDoS attack identification and mitigation capabilities to help enterprises overcome these datacentre security challenges.
Arbor Networks country manager for Australia and New Zealand, Nick Race, said, “Arbor Networks DDoS mitigation solutions are pervasively deployed in global service provider networks. To reach the enterprise market, we required the reach and resources and relationships of a partner like Ingram Micro
“Ingram Micro is the market leader in Asia and we are excited about leveraging their vast resources with a very compelling product for datacentre operators at a time when network security threats are evolving and presenting acute challenges.”
