In taking Gigamon’s solutions to market, Newgen will be focusing on all verticals, including telcos, financial services, government, and utilities, according to Newgen channel marketing director, Jim Berkman.
The move was initiated by Newgen who showed interest in taking its status with the vendor to the next level, Berkman said.
“We were doing a lot of marketing and promotion for Gigamon in Australia as reseller,” Newgen director, Robert Perin, said. “We’ve basically developed a business for them in the region since 2006, and therefore asked to be a distributor.”
“Newgen have grown alongside Gigamon and made an important contribution to our steady expansion here,” Gigamon APAC and Japan vice-president of sales, David Sajoto, said.
“With the history of accomplishment that we share with Newgen, we know they have the expertise, knowledge and support infrastructure to continue our expansion in the region.”
Perin anticipates the elevation to double Newgen revenue over the next 12 months.
Additionally, Perin said that the distributor has a range of training and certification programs in the works which will be announced and implemented within the next few months.
The focus will be channel-specific with a goal of attracting resellers who focus on the corporate space, he said.
