Melbourne-based software developer and distributor, Avalanche Technology Group, has filled its newly created position of chief technology officer (CTO) with Kevin Yank.
Yank will be in charge of the executive team and “all things technical”.
At present, the executive team is responsible for identifying and evaluating technology and business opportunities in order for expanding the group of companies with proven partnerships.
Yank has also taken ownership of all internal systems, including the Group’s internally developed e-commerce, CRM, and reseller management system.
“I’m running the development team in house, taking care of the reseller centre, website, ecommerce systems, and customer relationship management,” Yank said. “In a sense, I’m coming in and identifying things that have outdated their usefulness, and replacing them with something new.”
The reseller centre, a Web-based system, is high on the priority chain, according to Yank.
The system is used by resellers for day-to-day transactions, to manage licenses bought for clients, and to identify when these are ready for renewal in order to maintain timely contact with clients.
“Yank’s appointment will ensure we have the right team to provide outstanding technology solutions for the A/NZ and regional marketplaces,” Avalanche CEO, Peter Cameron, said.
The CTO position was created as Avalanche looks to focus on its technology choices in order to progress and permit growth.
Yank, who holds a bachelor of engineering and computer engineering, was previously CTO at SitePoint.
