ASX-listed IT management and integration company SMS Management & Technology yesterday crowned its western expansion with the opening of a Perth office.
The new Perth office will operate alongside e-business integrator Method, acquired in December 2000, when SMS was still trading as Sausage.
SMS's managing director, Tom Stianos, described the move as a "low-risk decision" compared with the company's expansion into Singapore and the UK, adding that Perth was becoming increasingly important in the IT arena.
"Perth continues to provide some of Australia's most innovative technology professionals. SMS is keen to tap into this resource and build upon our excellent reputation for delivering complex management and technology projects to our clients," Stianos said.
Sandra Paskett will use her previous experience with Deakin Consulting and CSC Australia, to head up the new Western Australian operations.
According to Stianos, the company will use the new office as a launch pad into Asian economies.
