iiNet has announced a relief package which includes cancellation of services without penalty and extended payment options for customers affected by the NSW floods.
The relief package applies to all of the ISP’s subsidiary brands across the country as well including AAPT (consumer division), Internode, Netspace, TransACT and Westnet.
Parts of NSW have been hit by heavy rain causing serious flooding.
In areas where homes have been damaged by flood waters, iiNet will allow customers to cancel their fixed-line voice service while reserving their telephone numbers for up to three months. Free connection is provided to an alternative accommodation should a customer’s home be uninhabitable.
For Internet services, iiNet is allowing cancellation of any broadband or dial-up connection free of charge. Free installation is offered to flood-affected ADSL customers once they relocate to a new place within 12 months.
“Challenging weather conditions can cause a lot of inconveniences, so we hope to provide some comfort to those customers affected as they’ll have one less thing to worry about,” iiNet CEO, Michael Malone, said in a statement.
Earlier this month, Telstra also announced a similar relief package for flood effected residential and business customers in certain flood-affected NSW regions. This included Cowra, Forbes, Goodooga, and Weilmoringle.
