Technology One has scored another big deal for the integration of its retail management software, signing on Malaysia's largest independently owned retailers, Mydin Mohamed & Sons Sdn Bhd in a contract worth around $1 million.
Mydin is both a wholesale and retail outfit, supplying products to other wholesalers and retailers as well as small businesses, offices and schools in product categories such as whitegoods and electrical to sports gear and cosmetics. Technology One will instigate its Retail One solution, an e-business enabled retail merchandising system across 10 superstores. The software allows the integration of point of sale, stock replenishment, purchasing, pricing and retail administation and management, as well as financial management as sales analysis using Technology One's Finance One accounting system.
Technology One beat out 10 other software vendors for the contract, including retail solutions giant, JDA Software.
"It's a great accolade for the world class quality of Retail One," said Technology One chief executive officer, Adrian Di Marco. "We're proving that Australian developed software can take a starring role on the international stage."
Technology One opened its Kuala Lumpur office a year ago and its clients now include the likes of Boustead Holdings, Bank Pembangunan Malyasia, Golden Hope Plantations and ARL Associates. This latest contract was secured after Mydin senior executives visited the company's research and development headquarters in Brisbane and spoke one of Technology One's Australian clients, Super Cheap Auto.
Mydin Mohamed & Sons' managing director Dato Ameer Ali Bin Mydin said the new systems will allow the company to integrate both its distribution and retail operations.
Technology One hopes the win will allow the company to further expand its presence in the region.
