Abad joins Meru as VP of channel sales
Meru Networks, a provider of virtualised wireless LAN architecture, has appointed Gary Abad as vice-president of channel sales.
Abad has 20 years experience in building strategic alliances and strong partnerships with leading value added resellers and systems integrators around the globe.
As part of the appointment, Abad will be responsible for growing Meru’s channel partner program, increasing channel penetration and providing Meru channel partners with support.
Meru has also announced a 20 per cent channel revenue growth in 2011, and channel partners delivered 93 per cent of Meru’s overall shipments.
The company closed 2011 with close to 1000 partners globally.
Sybase 365 awarded for mobile commerce
The company received the awards for its mobile payments solution which allows payments, mobile wallet capabilities and loyalty services.
Entrants were assessed on product range and innovation, geographic market penetration, evidence of commercial campaigns, partnerships and potentnial future business development.
Winners are selected based on significant contributions to their sector and are believed to have potential to make a market impact in the future.
Juniper Research senior analyst, David Snow, said, “Sybase 365’s extensive customer base, comprehensive mobile commerce platform and extended relationship with third-party partners make the company a key player in developing and furthering the mobile commerce ecosystem that will impact the industry’s continued growth.”
Bravura scores top in client services
Celent senior analyst, Wenli Yuan, who authored the report, said, “Celent endeavoured to include as many of the leading life and pension insurance policy administration systems available in APAC.”
Twenty-two policy administration systems were profiled.
“Bravura obtained the highest score for depth of client services,” Yuan said.
Bravura’s life insurance solution is a client-centric, rule-based application with workflow management that supports the rapid launch and flexible administration of many different product types.
F5 Networks announces support for select VDI solutions
Application delivery networking (ADN) company, F5 Networks is offering support for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions, including Citrix XenDesktop,, VMware View, Microsoft Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, and select others.
By offering its Big-IP products which leverage existing infrastructure, F5 aims to provide a unified and comprehensive approach o manage and accelerate network traffic, optimise performance, and centralise access and security policies.
The Big-IP solutions reduce server load, optimise TCP connection, and manage both local and global traffic. They also provide quality of service and support multi-stream ICA.
For Citrix XenDesktop deployments, Big-IP v11.1 provides integrated web interface service, eliminating the need for Citrix Web interface and ticketing servers.
Additionally, the solutions allow unified access and security policies across all devices and users, both internal and external.
Big-IP solutions also include native iApps templates for VMware View and XenDesktop.
