The service, launched in Australia last month, now allows users to instantly play music on Facebook using Rdio and share what they are listening to via FaceBook features, News Feed and Ticker.
All users need to do is connect their Rdio account to their Facebook profile, find friends and start sharing music.
Friends who see shared Rdio tracks on Facebook can click Play to hear them immediately.
Facebook users without an account can click any Rdio Play button and Rdio will automatically create an account with a seven-day free trial.
Rdio is also now available on the Android platform as a free download from the Android Market or as an update for existing users for users in the US, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
The completely redesigned Rdio for Android app, features several new enhancements including: collection, playlists, new releases, top charts, recommendations and support for Android Ice Cream Sandwich’s new remote control client.
“With the Rdio for Android redesign, we were focused on bringing Android users the most visual, social and interactive experience of music across every platform,” Rdio vice-president of product, Malthe Sigurdsson, said.
