Novell this week released the public beta of ManageWise 2.6. This version features several enhancements to the company's network management solution, including the ability for users to manage both NetWare and Windows NT servers with a single solution.
Enhancements featured in ManageWise 2.6 include support for the Windows NT console and Novell's forthcoming NetWare 5, as well as virus protection and server management.
Version 2.6 is also the first release of ManageWise to sport integration with the next version of Novell's Zero Effort Networks, or ZENworks, directory services-based desktop management solution.
Additionally, ManageWise 2.6 features Novell Directory Services (NDS) monitoring - enabling administrators to monitor more than 130 different types of objects in the NDS tree - as well as year-2000 compliance, enhanced traffic analysis, and SNMP auto-discovery capabilities, according to officials.
