SYDNEY – 12 January, 2005 – Lexmark has appointed John Kett as Finance General Manager for Asia Pacific with responsibility for driving the development of financial services and supporting strategic initiatives across the region.

With more than 15 years experience in senior corporate financial roles, Mr. Kett joins Lexmark from General Motors (GM) where he held senior financial positions across Asia Pacific. Previously, Mr. Kett was Chief Financial Officer for the GM China group and he has also served as Chief Financial Officer for GM Indonesia and New Zealand.

Mr. Kett replaces John Boughton, who will return to Australia from Singapore to assume a new position as Senior Regional Director for Asia Pacific.

Mr. Boughton’s newly created position will focus on the re-engineering of Lexmark’s internal systems and processes. In addition to this, Mr. Boughton will manage significant external public and business relationships as well as leading implementation of all cross-functional recommendations as approved by the CEO team.

Phil Carmichael, President Lexmark Asia Pacific, said: "On behalf of the Lexmark Asia Pacific team, I am pleased to welcome John Kett to the team. His experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand across the geography. John Boughton's continued support on process and control improvements leverages his experience as both a General Manager and Financial Executive and I look forward to his leadership to help drive these necessary improvements in process. Alliances continue to be critical to Asia Pacific's growth strategy and focus on this area is important.”
