PCs struggle in Q2 globally

The rot continued for Australian PC sales during the Q2 2001 as consumers blamed for holding off purchasing.

IDC claims that despite corporate spending remaining strong, it failed to live up to its potential - reason for concern, given Q2 is traditionally the strongest period of the year. Meanwhile, consumers appear to be waiting for significant technology advances before upgrading their PCs, says IDC.

In the current light, IDC is pessimistic the market will grow at all this year over last year's figures.
