Ingram Micro has confirmed former Tech Pacific chief, Kerry Baillie, as the managing director of the new combined organisation in Australia, effective immediately.
According to a statement released by the distributor, Baillie will hold overall responsibility for its Australian operations, reporting to the distributor's chief operating officer for A/NZ, SEA and India, Shailendra Gupta.
Ingram Micro president for Asia-Pacific, Alain Monie, said Baillie's experience steering the Tech Pacific business would be invaluable to the newly combined distributor.
"Prior to the acquisition Tech Pacific was Australia's leading technology distributor and Kerry brings invaluable experience in steering such a large and dynamic business," he said.
"One of the key objectives in Ingram Micro's acquisition of Tech Pacific was to accelerate our growth in the region and Kerry will be able to leverage his knowledge of the Australian market to drive the new Ingram Micro."
As reported by ARN last month, former Ingram managing director, Steve Rust, has also been retained. He has been appointed director of operations. This position will include overseeing the Enterprise Technology Services segment, product management and marketing functions. Rust held the local managing director's role for four years.
"Our global processes and worldwide IT/ ERP systems are key to Ingram Micro's competitive position and performance," Monie said. "Steve's knowledge of those systems will ensure we continue to provide high level support to our existing vendors and resellers and help unify the Tech Pacific portion of the business with those systems and processes."
Further senior management announcements are expected in the next few days.
