CommVault introduces its IntelliSnap Connect Program

New partner program aims to empower vendors to deliver data protection and snapshot management capabilities

Data protection company, CommVault, has launched its new IntelliSnap Connect Program – an open development program that enables disk array vendors to integrate their array-based snapshot solutions with the SnapProtect module in CommVault Simpana software.

The new partner program will help vendors deliver data protection and snapshot management capabilities.

The availability of the program means CommVault now has a comprehensive compatibility matrix for hardware snapshot management, without custom scripting or solution modification.

This will aid channel suppliers across Australia in unlocking and optimising their existing and future SAN investments of customers.

IntelliSnapT Connect partners gain exclusive access to technology and resources to help them create solutions, differentiate their storage platforms and gain competitive advantage in the data and information management marketplace by harnessing the power of application-aware snapshot management.

Prospective partners are provided a software development kit that allows them to integrate their storage systems with Simpana software and, upon completion of the program, achieve Qualified IntelliSnapT Connect Array status.

"This program is essential for our partners to rapidly develop complete, modern data protection solutions that set them apart in highly competitive and rapidly changing technology markets," CommVault director of engineering alliances, David Ngo, said.

According to the company, the announcement is a pre-cursor to a new Simpana product launch, which will be announced in more detail in the coming days.
