Storage tape specialist, Tandberg, has revamped its reseller program to incorporate new funding and support.
The Tandberg Special Storage Partner (TSSP) program now gives partners access to increased marketing funds, extended dealer warranty support and dealer cash rebates.
Resellers are divided into three tiers: Ordinary, Gold and Platinum partner.
Gold partners were eligible for up to 30 per cent marketing fund support against reseller costs accrued on events, while Platinum resellers could obtain up to 40 per cent, Tandberg marketing manager, Merissa Leow, said.
To coincide with the new program, Leow said the company intended to recruit 15 new resellers to service the SMB market. All would be eligible for promotional incentives, including cash rebates on drives sold and free tapes for end-users.
The move follows the company's announcement late last year that it had expanded its operations in A/NZ to further develop storage sales in the region. This included the appointment of a new business development manager, Georg Schlueter, to run its Sydney premises.
The local office worked in a pre-sales role and would liaise with new and existing channel partners, Leow said.
Tandberg distributes its products through T Data and ACA Pacific. Its enhanced warranty programs, which offer three-year advance replacement and onsite support across selected products will continue to be serviced by Connexion Point and Computer Gate in Melbourne.
The sales push coincided with the launch of its new half height 420LTO drive aimed at the SMB market.
The drive was launched in response to what the company saw as a market which was still significantly untapped, Leow said.
"The market has a great potential as shown by recent IDC figures that stated 30 per cent of SMBs do not have backup devices," she said.
