Facebook Australia and New Zealand boss, Paul Borrud, has announced his resignation from the social network.
Citing the desire to spend more time with his family and peruse other opportunities, Borrud will be stepping down from helming Facebook’s sales strategy in Australia and New Zealand.
He has been in the A/NZ position since 2009 and was with Facebook in the US for several years before he relocated to Sydney for the role.
Borrud has not yet announced what role he will be pursuing after his stint at Facebook, one which saw the social network become the one of the largest and influential Web sites on the Internet.
Last year, Borrud presented a keynote speech at CeBIT 2011 about social networking being the “new word of mouth.”
