NSW Transport Info is an all-in-one travel guide that replaces numerous apps on your smartphone. As the app version of the 131500 website, it offers concise travel information, including bus, train, and ferry schedules, alongside walking guides.

Operation is fairly straightforward: you enter a location of departure and your destination, and then select at which time you want to leave or arrive, and the app generates a list of trips. Trips can be saved in a favourites list for quick-access.

The in-built map details your trip, allowing you to browse through each travel plan. This is particularly useful when it comes to walking through unfamiliar streets.

The settings in the ‘more’ tab also allow you to toggle which mode of transport you do or don’t want to use, as well as offering walk speed and wheelchair options.

The included ‘service info’ tab is an up-to-date list of news regarding all forms of transport. It contains information about disruptions, delays, trackwork, and closures. Like all the other tabs, it has a refresh button to keep you updated.

The convenience comes at the cost of an Internet connection which the app requires to load information.

Pros: Neat, simple, concise, and free.

Cons: Exclusive to NSW, and relies on an Internet connection.

Verdict: A useful tool for concise trip planning without getting lost – and it’s free!
