Nikko

Distributed in Australia by M+H Power Systems, Nikko has released three new rack-mountable UPS systems designed for Internet computers and advanced servers. The line interactive King RM Pro Series comes in three form factors: 600/1000VA, 1200/1500VA and 2200VA output capacity. The range includes lightning, surge, short-circuit and overload protection and a history record of power-failure events. The King Pro series is priced from $733 (600VA model), $880 (1200VA model) and $1331 (2200VA model) (all ex GST).

MGE UPS Systems

MGE UPS Systems Australia has released a new range of rack-mountable UPS products designed to protect servers, storage systems and networking equipment. The Pulsar Evolution Range features six models from a 1U (1.75 inch) 1500VA device to a 2U 3000VA UPS. Network features include USB and serial connection ports, remote monitoring and network management using XML tags and SNMP proxy agents, and noise reduction over the network. The Evolution range also features hot-swappable batteries and cable locking systems. Pricing for the Pulsar Evolution Range starts at $495 (ex GST).

American Power Conversion

APC's new range of personal UPS devices resemble a standard power board more than a quality UPS and surge-suppression unit for PCs and workstations. The Back UPS ES, aimed at the SME and SOHO markets, features audible alarms, brownout correction, Internet fax-modem-DSL protection (for protection while online), lightning and surge protection, and unattended shutdown. Available from Express Data, Ingram Micro, Tech Pacific and Anixter, the Back UPS ES 350 retails from $262 and the Back UPS ES 500 starts at $333 (inc GST).

Emerson Network Power

Since acquiring Liebert, Emerson Network Power's new standard in UPSes is the 2U form factor GXT2U. Using a specially designed Windows software package, the GXT2U is custom-configurable to 700, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 3000VA capacities with replaceable batteries. The GXT2U handles power spikes and transients, EMI/RFI noise, voltage drops and brownout conditions, harmonics, power-factor corrected loads and outages. A front-mounted panel displays system status, load levels, battery time remaining and any alarm conditions. The GXT2U retails from $1561 (ex GST).
