Smartphone and tablet users will now have greater access to the latest crime news, traffic alerts and emergency warnings with the NSW Police Force unveiling its new mobile website.
The NSW Police Force has formerly embarked on using new digital technology to help prevent and solve crime, with its Facebook, Twitter, YouTubeand Flickr sites, as well as its Eyewatch project.
According to the NSW Police Force, smartphone and tablet users currently account for 22 per cent of all visits to the NSWPF website.
The new mobile version of the website condenses the most popular sections into a small number of easy-to-navigate pages, including: contact police, find a police station, news, recruitment, police videos and other police sites.
NSW Police Force commissioner, Andrew Scipione, said the new mobile website is another example of how the organisation is moving with the times and embracing new technology to reach out to the community it serves.
The mobile website can be viewed on smart phone or tablet by navigating to: m.police.nsw.gov.au
