Storage and networking distributor Lan 1 has been appointed by Adaptec spinoff Roxio to distribute the CD burning software vendor's products in Australia.
The deal will see Lan 1 supplying Roxio's Easy CD Creator, Go Back and Toast Titanium products to a wide variety of channels, including mass merchants and dealers as well as education, government and corporate resellers.
"We see Lan 1 as a natural partner," said Shuzo Isoda, Roxio's managing director for Asia-Pacific. "Lan 1's existing storage background meshes extremely well with Roxio's storage management software products."
Glenn Jones, Lan 1's marketing manager, said he saw the deal as "an exciting move forward", which will enable the company to provide a complete content management and recording solution for its customers via CD, DVD RW, RW and RAM.
"As Pioneer's premium distributor in Australia, we are in a natural position to capitalise on the digital recording wave," Jones said. "The huge growth in sales of DVD RW will only increase the need for Roxio products both in the Mac and PC markets."
