Optus bundles BlackBerry Torch 9860 with BlackBerry PlayBook

BlackBerry Torch 9860 features the new BlackBerry 7 operating system and a 3.7-inch touch screen

BlackBerry is delivering value on-the-go with the release of the BlackBerry Torch 9860 by including the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet as a bonus.

From now until January 31, 2012, Optus customers who purchase the BlackBerry Torch 9860 smartphone on the $49 Optus cap or above, will each receive a bonus BlackBerry PlayBook, valued at $579.

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 features the new BlackBerry 7 operating system and a 3.7-inch touch screen.

The addition of an optical track pad also provides an improved navigational experience.

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 also includes 4GB of internal memory, expandable to 32GB with an external memory card.

According to the company, the exclusive BlackBerry bundle means Optus customers will be able to wirelessly connect the BlackBerry Torch 9860 handset through BlackBerry Bridge for secure access to their email, calendar, address book, task list, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) and more.

Blackberry launched its PlayBook on June 20 and has faced a decline in its sales.

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 is available from all Yes Optus Stores, Optus Online and Optus dealers.
