Accolades recognises the winners at this year's ARN IT Industry Awards - the best of the best. ARN’s newest award category recognises the increased importance the telecommunications industry is playing in a modern IT environment of Cloud and other hosted services. The crossover between telecommunications and the traditional IT channel is significant now, and encompasses providers (vendor), technology distributors and resellers. The Best Telecommunications Initiative Award went to a telco that developed its own in-house R&D facility.
With a presence in 51 countries and six continents, US-based communications distributor, Brightstar, is no small fry.
The company has relationships with a myriad of telco vendors and operators, giving Brightstar an extensive portfolio of products.
But it’s not all about the physical goods. Key to the distributor’s success is providing value-added distribution services. In Australia, Brightstar is known as a long-time distributor of telco giant Telstra.
The telco had picked the distributor for its size, global sourcing experience and relationship with manufacturers.
The company has been rewarded for its work with ARN’s first Telco Distributor of the Year Award.
“We are one of the world’s most advanced distributors to the telecommunications market because we provide our customers with full management of their mobility product range that goes beyond traditional distribution models,” Brightstar Oceania managing director, David Nanayakkara said.
“This strategy focuses firmly on creating value for operators while providing services and feedback to both suppliers and customers.
“We believe integration of this kind, including logisitics, supply chain, product management and channel management, bridges the information gap found in traditional distributor models and provide our customers with a definite advantage.”
So what’s next for Brightstar? What will it be doing to nab the ARN Telco Distributor of the Year once again in 12 months time?
“We will continue to develop complete end-to-end distribution solutions that help our customers extend and expand channel reach that ultimately drives supply chain efficiencies,” Nanayakkara said.
“For Brightstar, it all begins and ends with the customer and this approach ensure we are able to deliver improved performance and profitability in Australia and around the world.
“With an extensive portfolio of innovative service offerings, we believe Brightstar is strategically positioned to continue to anticipate and deliver on customer needs.”
