Winners were grinners at Toshiba's annual TargetBusters sales incentive awards night, attended by more than 150 of the vendor's top channel partners in Bali recently.
Axon Computers took out the coveted 5-Star reseller of the year award -- a first for the Victorian-based business and "a great achievement for the entire team", according to managing director Rodney Con Foo.
Axon beat six other businesses for the award, which is based on sales volume and growth, business focus, service and customer satisfaction. Regional winners include The Portable Computer Systems Company in NSW, LaptopLand in Queensland, ComputerQuest in the ACT, General Business Machines in South Australia and PT Computer Professionals in Western Australia. Key sales representatives from each state were also awarded.
Once again, Tech Pacific took out the title of distributor of the year, the fourth time the distribution giant has won the award in the last five years.
For the first time, Toshiba also presented an award for retailer of the year. In a sign of the growing retail focus of notebook computers, Harvey Norman took out the inaugural prize.
"This is a first for us; to be recognised by a vendor is extraordinary for a retailer," said Harvey Norman category manager Paul Schnell.
