Telstra launches its Wholesale Wavelength Service

Suitable for wholesale customers looking for a high bandwidth backhaul service

Telstra has added the Wholesale Wavelength Service (WWS), an optic fibre backhaul solution, to its wholesale product portfolio.

The offering uses dense wavelength division multiplex to deliver multiple signals over a single optic fibre for high capacity backhaul.

It is delivered on Telstra’s existing infrastructure.

“No matter which part of the market our wholesale customers operate in – carriers, system integrators or service providers – they all need backhaul services,” Telstra wholesale group managing director, Stuart Lee, said in a statement.

“… With the launch of WWS, we have a new backhaul offering that is reliable, cost effective and can scale up with minimum disruption.”

WWS is available in 600 metro exchange service areas. It offers a choice of 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps and 10Gbps per channel.
