TCI rolls out Optus base stations

Total Communications Infrastructure (TCI) has secured a lucrative contract with Optus to design, construct and install GSM mobile base stations on the east coast of Australia.

Spread over a two-year period, Rod Stanton, TCI's operations director, said the rollout is proof of TCI's maturity, in that blue-chip companies are now entrusting it with large-scale rollouts of some of their most important assets.

Optus said that TCI won the tender based on its successful track record in delivering large-scale contracts and its expertise in property acquisition and environmental planning for base station and in-building systems.
