ProjectLab tidies up CD cupboard

An Australian company has come up with a way to alleviate the mess of CDs that can collect around a PC.

Designed by Melbourne-based firm ProjectLab and manufactured in South Australia, the Century CD holds up to 100 CDs, which can be retrieved in a matter of seconds. The unit connects to a notebook or PC running Windows. Up to nine units can be stacked on top of each other to form a tower. Software automatically recognises a new unit has been added and can manage up to 1000 CDs. ProjectLab believes the Century CD will prove popular with advertising and graphic design houses, as well as the health, accounting, education and government sectors. The unit will retail for $348 and carries a 12-month, return-to-dealer limited warranty. It is available through master distributor Global Data Storage as well as M21 Solutions, ACS Computer, MCT Computers, Westan and Ingram Micro.
