Australian Computer Parts Network (ACPN) has added new functionality to its online components search engine with a purchasing tool that allows users to use purchasing power over the Internet.
A business division of Parallel Solutions and Distribution, ACPN has launched Target Pricing, which lets its end users and reseller customers shop around from the Web site for Compaq, IBM and Toshiba parts.
"Unlike traditional e-commerce sites, our clients will no longer have to accept or reject a quoted price on the spot," said ACPN director Chris Russell.
Clients submit a preferred price for any of ACPN's online components, an additional drawcard for the components search site which launched earlier this year, allowing clients to source components based on unit model. The company had planned to introduce the module to its Web site in November, but brought the development forward after continued interest from clients.
"They will tell us their optimum price for a product and we can then provide them with the best price from our suppliers," Russell said. "They'll know they are getting the best price for every product."
