StorageCraft will expand into South Africa, using its successful Sydney operation as the launching pad.
The vendor has partnered with South African distributor, Phoenix Software, to make this expansion possible.
In a release, Storagecraft Vice President Asia Pacific, Greg Wyman, said “It is a key element in our strategic expansion plans to cover South Africa. There is strong demand for our technology in this region, hence we expect rapid growth. Organisations in South Africa still rely heavily on tape for backups, and ShadowProtect will deliver new levels of recoverability.
“We are confident that we will experience the same swift transition we have achieved in Australia and New Zealand, where so many organisations are now using disk-to-disk for backups and tape for offsite archiving of data.”
The new business will be headed by South African-born sales engineering and alliances manager for StorageCraft, Paul Harris.
