Importing contacts from your messages may have been a chore in the past, but gwabbit is here to make things easier for you.
The app automatically scans emails that arrive in your inbox, searches for contacts, and automatically converts them into contact records in your BlackBerry address book.
The gwabbit client monitors your emails as you open them, and if the sender’s signature is found in the message, the information is sent to the app’s server for processing before the results are returned to the client.
When relevant contact details are found, a message will come up on the screen to ask if the user wants to save the information as a new contact or merge it into an existing entry.
The fully functioning app is free, but the paid version removes the feature that sends an email to your contacts when you’ve added them to your address book using gwabbit.
Pros: Automates the addition of new contact.
Cons: The app sends information to a processing server, so it’s reliant on a network connection.
Verdict: Easily grab contact details with gwabbit.
