Globe Software has landed a lucrative contract to implement and support Navision's Axapta financial software suite into Channel 9's Perth operations.
Under the terms of the agreement, Globe Software, a Perth-based Navision Solution Centre, spent five months customising and installing the Axapta ERP (enterprise resource planning) software.
According to Navision's officials, the Axapta software system will assist the broadcaster as it prepares to make the transition into the new digital era. Ric Nicholas, Channel 9 Perth's station manager, said television commerce was a major part of the new digital future and it was vital to have a robust system to support it.
"Every accounting package is pretty comparable to the next," Nicholas said. "The reason we chose Navision Axapta over other systems was its set of development tools, which gave us all the customisation we needed."
Navision Axapta integrates most business processes, including purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, service and support, order administration, sales and marketing, human resources and finance, the company claimed.
With the solution now operating, Globe Software will continue to support the product for a number of years and provide the broadcaster with future upgrades.
