Storage and imaging distributor ACA Pacific is moving its Sydney offices into new premises that are able to provide a wider range of resources for its resellers.
ACA is moving into the 17th floor of the One.Tel building in North Sydney, a move that marketing manager Raj Saini hopes will not result in any bad karma for the distributor. "We didn't go for the 18th floor [One Tel's old premises]," he said. "That would have been asking for trouble."
Saini said the new premises will enable the distributor to offer its Sydney resellers some of the resources its Melbourne head office already has on offer. It will include demonstration rooms and a seminar theatre to enable ACA's resellers to preview products, train and even demonstrate solutions to their end users using ACA's facilities.
"Our philosophy has always been to work with our resellers," Saini said. "Often they invite their customers in to talk about products, as opposed to having to hire hotels or conference areas," he said.
ACA Pacific has also opened an official office in Perth (where previously an account manager worked from home), and has plans to do the same in Brisbane. Saini said the company can afford to keep expanding because its focus protects it from the slow down being felt among distributors of commodity IT products.
"We only deal in those high-end products that need to be demonstrated to customers," he said. "Fortunately, we are continuing to be involved with some big deals."
