Empired lands $14m deal with Main Roads WA

The two year contract extension involves a significant program of work to transform the Main Roads technology environment

Perth-based ASX-listed IT service provider, Empired (ASX:EPD) has secured a $14 million two-year contract extension with Main Roads Western Australia.

The $14M contract extension will see Empired continue to provide infrastructure operational services plus project services including service desk, desktop, server and network managed infrastructure services.

In addition, it will continue to undertake a significant program of work to transform the Main Roads technology environment.

Main Roads are responsible for Western Australia’s highways and main roads, and is one of the largest geographically spread road agencies, globally covering 2.5 million sqm.

Empired managing director, Russell Baskerville said securing this extension was a major milestone for Empired.

“This contract extension highlights Empired’s expertise and capability in providing Infrastructure managed services to large scale organisations,” Baskerville said in a statement.

Main Roads manager information management, Geoff Wilson, said the company had undergone many changes during the previous three years, including considerable growth in operations and the scope of services it offered.

“Empired stepped up to these challenges, in a flexible proactive manner, meeting and often exceeding our expectations,” Wilson said.

“Main Roads is undertaking major initiatives to implement ITIL best practices across all operational systems, plus delivering on a roadmap for technology transformation throughout the organisation.”
