Mobile devices designer, HTC Corporation, has unveiled the HTC Rhyme, which will be available exclusively through Optus from November 1.

The HTC Rhyme builds on the HTC Sense smartphone, incorporating a sleek new design and a family of complementary accessories.

According to the company, the phone is created for people who require advanced features but at the same time require a phone that is sleek and fits seamlessly into their lives.

HTC A/NZ country manager, Ben Hodgson, said the HTC Rhyme was designed based on feedback that consumers want their phones to be more personal and complementary to every moment of their day.

The smartphone features a new home screen that provides a clean, efficient way to interact with essentials by providing uncluttered previews of appointments, messages or folders. The HTC Rhyme’s locked home screen can be customised to display the most important content.

It has a 3.7-inch WVGA, super LCD display and high-quality stereo sound. HTC Rhyme also offers advanced imaging capabilities with its 5-megapixel camera that includes auto focus, power LED flash and instant shutter. In addition, the camera features a number of photo-taking and sharing elements, including: face detection, action burst scene and panoramic mode.

It includes an application, HTC Watch, which features a wide selection of movies and TV shows that can be downloaded for instant viewing.

Some of its other features include: 1 GHz processor, 1GB internal phone storage, 768 MB RAM, microSD and a memory card (SD 2.0 compatible) expansion slot.

The HTC Rhyme comes together with a suite of accessories that include:

  • HTC Rhyme Docking Station, which simultaneously recharges the phone while turning the smartphone into an alarm clock and music centre that plays songs directly from the built-in Bluetooth capable speakers.
  • HTC Rhyme Charm, a small, light-emitting cube that attaches to the phone by a cord that alerts users to incoming calls. HTC Rhyme Pouch

The HTC Rhyme will be available in Australia in the colour ‘Clearwater’ for $0 on the $59 Optus Cap Plan over 24 months (total minimum cost over 24 months is $1416).

It is available to pre-order from October 24 at www.optus.com.au/rhyme.
